Lobules of (right and left) lobes of prostate
Proposed secretory units comprising the right and left lobes of the prostate. Terminologia Anatomica recognizes following lobules (lobuli) of each lobe: anteromedial (anteromedialis), inferolateral (inferolateralis), inferoposterior, and superomedial (superomedialis); however, a lobar-lobular pattern is not evident in histologic sections and has been widely replaced by a description of central, right, and left peripheral glandular zones and of an anterior muscular zone. | |
